Augustinian Volunteers Australia

Who are the Augustinian Volunteers?

Augustinian Volunteers are young (and not so young) adults who commit to work at the margins of society in ministries alongside The Augustinians. Volunteers work at least one day per week for a period of 12 months.

Your Volunteer year begins in Sydney in February with a three week preperation. Th 2-Unit Course is accredited with Broken Bay Institute and Newcastle University. The Augustinians cover the costs for those committing to Volunteer.

After the course, your local mentor will assist you to find the appropriate service setting. You will be asked to attend this local service regularly on a day or a number of days each week, depending on the terms of your commitment.

We at the Augustinian Volunteers regard this opportunity for service as beneficial for you and for those you serve. Hopefully, those with whom you are ministering will benefit greatly, as you will, as you share life together.
